Solas means light. We opened our first room in Venice in 2018 with one idea: good teaching in a room that feels like a neighborhood, not a brand. The kind of place where the teacher knows your name by class two and nobody checks your alignment like a grade.
We have grown to three studios and an online library since then, but the idea has not changed. Venice, Encinitas, Santa Cruz, and a pocket studio that travels with you.
What we teach
Eight class styles, from a gentle Restorative to a demanding Rocket, all of them built around the same fundamentals: breath, attention, and the patience to meet yourself where you are. No performance, no pressure to look a certain way on the mat.
Our teachers come from different traditions and different backgrounds. What they share is a commitment to clear cues, honest sequencing, and zero tolerance for fear-based teaching.
